LOL That's the exact opposite of the consensus of Bush worshipers here on FR. They all say Bush "tried to warn Congress" about the financial sector and here Bush admits he didn't have a clue.

He may have 'failed to see the house of cards', but they foresaw something because he had his economics team making the rounds to the news-talkies in the late spring of 2007 waiving the banner that all was right with the world and the economy was in great shape.

Why else would the economic advisors suddenly be showing up on TV?

They were just trying to fend off the collapse/crisis until they could get out of office, but they failed by a few months.

He should have addressed the immigration issues rather than the Social Security issue when he had political capital from his 2004 re-election victory.

Then his presidency would have been over sooner and we wouldn't have Roberts and Alito.
