I have NEVER worked for an employer that gave coverage the first day of employment. Actually, one month is the lowest I have ever had.
You also probably have never been a physician employed by a hospital. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if all physicians get coverage from day 1. Hospials understand that without good docs there would be no hospital.
