Does that make the House 240 R vs. 190 D with 5 races still undecided?

Walsh was probably 4K votes ahead before the fraud kicked in. Rats just misundertabulated by 500.

“Where is this? Why so close?”

This district is in the NW suburbs of Chicago. The incumbent is a democrat who won the seat about 6 years ago from a dinosaur Republican. The seat was continually listed as a comfortable democrat hold and ignored by both parties. The GOP provided little support for Walsh but grassroots Tea Party support more than made up for it.

This is a true victory for the local tea party groups. Walsh has won with a ture grassroots door-to-door effort, with little if any National GOP support.

Bean will no doubt ask for a recount, so certification of the actual victory is probably a few weeks away.

How does the IL legislature look on redistricting? Did the R’s do well on state legislative races in ‘10? Looking at this CD’s history, he’ll be vulnerable in ‘12 if they move a few precincts around.

“How does the IL legislature look on redistricting?”

Bleak. Dems control the redistricting 100%.
Let’s just say, Walsh and his Republican neighbor in Congress (Dold) better enjoy the next 2 years, because at least one of them will not come back.
