There absolutely must be a consistent standard, not making changes just prior to the counting. Its why Miller should take a strong stance on a recount.
Because of it being a write-in absolute correct spelling must apply. When you have to repair a watch you cannot use a crowbar, you have to be precise, and now is the time to be precise, all the more reason I still back Joe Miller, he will defend the precise definitions of the law and the Constitution.
Don't blame the Alaskan voters. This was a Franken-style ripoff. We are as disgusted as anybody else.
As somebody else on FR mentioned the other day, the sabotage was a bi-partisan effort...
Excuse me...Some of us Freepers are also Alaskan voters, and we are FURIOUS. This election was stolen by the murkowski machine, partly in revenge for Sarah Palin's trouncing of Frank Murkowski several years ago.
Same here, I’m totally disgusted with the revolving evolving rotating door count process that occurred.
Votes that show a voter change mark should be tossed, ESPECIALLY when its done with a different color ink!
And absolute spelling MUST be enforced, it qualifies higher than voter intent.
From various sources ovr the past couple of days so take all this with a few grains of salt. Apparently UOCAVA ballots have been counted along with the other absentee ballots throughout this process. Nov. 17 is the last day for any UOCAVA ballots to be recieved in order to be counted.
One thing we’ve never seen as best as I can find is the total number of UOCAVA ballots that were mailed on Sept. 18. They sent over 13,000 UOCAVA ballots in 08 but this year may be smaller since it’s isn’t a Presidential election. Who knows but I wish they would publish the data.

Anchorage, Alaska. November 14, 2010
Tomorrow, approximately 8,800 absentee ballots are due to be counted as well as 1,000 overseas (mostly military) ballots.

Senator Murkowski will not declare victory until all the overseas ballots are counted. The Alaska Division of
Elections says it will likely count those ballots tomorrow, of which there are likely to be about 300-500.

From the ADN website on Monday evening:
Only about 600 absentee ballots remain to be counted later this week from military and overseas addresses, according to the Division of Elections.

How interesting that so many are such experts on Alaskan voters. This election was STOLEN. Period. Don't blame the voters.
The people have spoken. The bastards.
Those machines and computer screens always have places reserved for "write in," but how do you take advantage of them?
I smell a rat... Just saying....
I, foolishly I now see, thought the purpose of the RNC was to elect the Republican nominee.
That is the rub. In a primary, with limited voters and participation, it is far easier for the better, “pure conservative” candidate to pull of an upset win. It is something entirely different to win a general election. Let's face it, Miller ran a miserable campaign and the voting population does not necessarily share the same views and values as conservative Freepers do. If the election is indeed over, consider this event as lessons learned in the quest to purge all Rinos.
Sarah Palin has nothing to do with this.....people didn’t vote for Miller because of Sarah.....it was a combination of ever iincreasing group of Alaskans wanting pork and federal assistance...which Lisa provided, a poor finish by Miller and a coalition of democrats dumping their own candidate and joining forces with Lisa’s RINO’s friends. Joe Millet would have won fairly easily if Murkowski wasn’t in the race, Lisa is not liked up in Alaska and did subpar against a no name contender back in 2004 in the Primary, when RINOs and Democrats join forces, it’s a very scary thing for all conservatives
I just knew that some FReepers would try to blame this on Sarah, the hate for Sarah is more than the hate for a woman who mocked Joe Millers military service and is a vile woman that cannot be denied ......sheesh!!!!!!
Alaska does have a unique style, and a LOT of military, especially veterans here.
Miller is a veteran, I strongly support any veteran, and I think today will spark a truly again I use the word...unique situation.
Reminds me of a term when the encampment is over run with hostiles.....I think it best to find a deep hole right now cause the dung is about to start flying up here.
Miller won’t look crazy or desperate fighting for a recount, he must fight for justice FOR Alaskans, if he quits on this it would be the worst thing to do. Real Alaskans don’t quit, it may look like it to cheechakos but we call it strategic maneuvering, something many people won’t accept, sort of a lost art I should say.
Sarah knew when the time was right for it, and so does Joe Miller.
Lisa will implode if there is a recount, and more scrutiny of the votes.
Correct, he was served the election on a plate by Sarah and he blew it. Some of the reports about stuff he did (if true) boggles the mind. Why go nuts about hiding some review when it wasn’t all that bad? Or handcuff a journalist? This should have been comfortable win.
Thank you.
“Yes it was the Native Alaskans” You’re dreaming. Eskimo and Indian Alaskans make up an eighth of the population. And a lot of them vote democrap.
All the newswires are announcing that Murkowski won, not just the WSJ.
Speaking of Miller, he’s been awfully silent lately, hasn’t he....??
I do not really know...I am not an expert...I am very sad.
But the results seem to indicate that lots of Alaskans love those benefits.
Even in that beautiful land of Alaska there is corruption.
