Not to hijack the thread, but I wonder how the thinking Alaskans that voted for the cow feel about that vote now that it looks like earmarks are going to be cut-off, anyway?
Earmarks? That's penny ante.
We're talking federal loan guarantees for the pipeline and revenue sharing with the state on royalties from drilling the OCS.
Unfortunately, the “earmark ban” is a sham. It is non-binding and voluntary. It in no way prohibits earmarks.
