If the plane indeed made a crater on impact they will have to excavate to see if the seat is in the hole.
I was on some crash recoveries in the 1970’s at Holloman AFB and there is never much left bigger than a foot long after a 400+ mph crash...
3rd night below freezing, pray for the pilot.
