They warned that industries are becoming increasingly vulnerable to the so-called Stuxnet worm as they merge networks and computer systems to increase efficiency. The growing danger, said lawmakers, makes it imperative that Congress move on legislation that would expand government controls and set requirements to make systems safer.
That's hardly reassuring.

More and more excuses for the government to consolidate power in the name of “necessity”.

The growing danger, said lawmakers, makes it imperative that Congress move on legislation that would expand government controls and set requirements to make systems safer.Okay, now I know who wrote this: It was the EPA. Those controls and set requirements will give them complete control of over users of Siemens controllers first then the rest later.
"Give us money or we shut you down through your PLC." said the EPA administrator to the CEO of Widgets, Inc.

I don't want to use a hammer on my PLC, which would work about as good as legislation. When did government meddling in the real world where people have real jobs and make real stuff EVER improve anything?

Well, considering that it was most likely Israel possibly aided by the US who wrote this one, I’m not concerned about this malware (Worm, not virus)
My concern is the one that comes after Stuxnet from someone targeting us.
