Sen. Rockefeller: FCC Should Take FOX News, MSNBC Off Airwaves
Breitbart tv ^ | 11/18/10 | Staff

There's a little bug inside of me which wants to get the FCC to say to FOX and to MSNBC: "Out. Off. End. Goodbye." It would be a big favor to political discourse; our ability to do our work here in Congress, and to the American people, to be able to talk with each other and have some faith in their government and more importantly, in their future.

Democrats oppose the Bill of Rights.

They want to turn our Bill of Rights, into a Bill of Lefts.

Jay needs a good republican candidate to run against him..
But then West Virginia just chose Manchin over a decent candidate..
They have the corrupt system that matches themselves..
The people of WV seem to be as corrupt as their politicians..
Thats the way it SHOULD be...

According[p.0 to DemonRats, the people are stupid and access to information is confusing for us. Therefore, only the DemonRat point of view should be promoted.

Just like Hitler.

It doesn’t matter if he’s perfectly correct that cable news channels coarsen debate. It’s not Congress’ job to regulate this, and in fact it’s something they’re expressly forbidden to do.

Senator Rockefeller,

Do you know how to get the American people to have faith in the government? For their government to be faithful to the American people.

Six hours a day in one of the TSA nudie scanners for an extended period of time should do the trick.

Doesn’t Jay ROCKEFELLER have some friggin’ money to go count or something? Better he do that than ruminate about restricting free speech rights.

What a turd. West Virginia... PLEASE... put that guy out next time, OK?

Govt. types only want their jobs to be easier regardless of the inconvenience to the public. I get that no matter how despicable. But when a long standing US Senator advocates depriving the public of information resources so he can advance his causes in secret - he’s heading to Hugo Chavezville and needs to retire. His work plan isn’t more important than the governed’s right to know.

Correct me if I’m wrong...

I don’t think the FCC has any control over cable.

The FCC was established to control what goes over the airwaves, because it belongs to all of us. Unregulated airwaves have the potential of being dominated by a single source or one that provides obscene content. But this does not apply to cable, which is accepted by the consumer by choice.

If I’m right, then either Sen. Rockefeller is ignorant or is asking to change the role of the FCC from an airwaves traffic cop to that of an Information Controller.

You notice the source of his complaint? It’s the pressure that being applied to Congress.

Exactly. He doesn't like the heat and should get out of the kitchen. The frightening thing is that this person with obviously no grasp of the enormity of what he is suggesting is an elected official, hired to make decisions for average Americans.

Why is this news? Who gives a fluff what that guy says.

Becasue he is a US Senator and their are 50+ more just like him. This kind of talk is straight out of 1930's Germany and the Bolshevik Revolution.

this guy has been a sitting U.S. Senator for a quarter-century, yet he displays absolutely NO knowledge of the US Constitution, or of the various laws empowering the FCC (which give it absolutely NO authority over cable or satellite program content)
