"Not only are these porno scanners a gross violation of individual privacy," said boycott co-founder George Donnelly, "they're also a threat to the health of millions of passengers and ineffective as well. The goal of the demonstrations is to urge Americans to exercise their legal right to 'opt out' of the scan."
If you have to fly on November 24, We Won't Fly urges you to opt out of the new scanners for your own health and privacy. Say "I opt out!" Be prepared for delays and intimate TSA "patdowns." If you're not flying on November 24, We Won't Fly urges you to tell your friends, family and community members who are flying. Organizers of local meetups can list their events on our nationwide map at http://WeWontFly.com/opt-out-day.
As University of California scientists noted earlier this year, the airport scanners may pose a serious health risk. "Our overriding concern is the extent to which the safety of this scanning device has been adequately demonstrated. This can only be determined by a meeting of an impartial panel of experts that would include medical physicists and radiation biologists at which all of the available relevant data is reviewed," they said in a letter of concern.

Must be trying to get a point across...
In New Jersey, the roads the bigwigs commute on to the capital in Trenton have the best landscaping and maintenance.
In the Beltway the Federal workers are coddled in many ways. It is a reasonable guess that at the Beltway region air portals that the screenings are far more polite and restrained than elsewhere, just from a knowledge of how bureaucracies work. They do not want to bite the hand that feeds them.
Get it?

Sorry if I couldn’t remember every poster’s name on this thread, but I hope they see this.
I am open-minded, even when it concerns my own opinion.
Watch this. At least you will be more informed of some of the REAL ABUSES by the GOVT/UNION controlled TSA.

Nope
UCANSEE2
What are the options.. Calling our congress critters?
We should just let the TSA do as they want until someone in our Govt gets their heads out of thier posteriers?
NO We must stand up to our TSA overlords. and if that means shutting the system down than lets shut the system down.
or do you think complimenting them on thier warm hands will make it all better?
I really don’t like to argue; especially with someone I seem to agree with but sheesh you make it hard :^))
You’re not seeing the big picture. Being molested by TSA mouth-breathing losers isn’t even the point. The point is that this is one more step — a big step — in the incremental effort to desensitize Americans to government intrustion. How is this a difficult concept to comprehend?
What does that have to do with flying out of Dulles?
I am sooooooo glad we have no air travel plans for the near future!
I don’t think that you have a clue. I and many others here have been objecting to the abuses by the TSA. You and Chuzzlewit have been making light of our concerns and are defending them.
You came on this thread and berated all of us who criticized the TSA. Why, I don’t know, but that’s your problem. If you want yourself and yours to be groped by goons employed by the government, go for it. I don’t.
ROTFL... the Post of the Day goes to PATRIOT1876! ;-D
Do you know any Japanese?
Seriously. People are really going over the edge and off the cliff over this issue.
UCan and Chuzz haven’t been berating anyone. They both tried to be rational in their debate and/or discussion.
Go back and read the posts.
I think you will find a little agreement with some people by the two above mentioned individuals.
I know it is boring to to sit and give rational and reasoned debate, but there you had/have it.
I’m done.
Too much other immediate area issues to deal with than people who want to take this issue and turn into something it is not.
Have fun.
You’re wrong. Have a wonderful life.
Not much. I can get something to eat and a beer and thanks and you’re welcome and excuse me. My experience is that most Japanese know way more english than Americans know japanese, besides, I’m usually near a navy base.
They're the same sites the feds/FCC will vigorously go after re radio broadcasts.
Rookay. I have a a few friends who worked in Japan each for a number of years, but I have never been there. My Dad taught me a little, but his Japanese ran to the vulgar side. I would like to go there, but as it stands I’d have to take a bus to Canuckistan and fly from there. I can’t tolerate lines, and I certainly can’t tolerate the debasing searches. It would be reckless to all at my gate to for me to try to fly. No sense endangering others. And my wife gets embarrassed. And SHE would never tolerate these searches, and she knows how to inflict pain quickly.
Anyway the point of the stuff about Dulles is that in Dulles or Reagan or Balt-Wash the screening may not be as abusive as at other airports because the elite beltway class would be more likely to raise an effective ruckus against the TSA goons and goon jefes.
I wouldn’t know. When one flies, you only go through security at the first airport, not at any of the connecting airports unless you leave the boarding area. I fly out of Norfolk as my home and job is there. From there, there is no more security. I’ve never been patted-down or screened at any foreign airport when I returned or at any domestic airport when I’ve flown in CONUS. I’ve only been patted-down twice since 2001. It was not in any way demeaning or offensive. I have seen others patted- down and no on was upset or considered groped.
From your description, it seems that it’s a good thing you don’t fly. Those of us that have to fly a lot for our jobs, really don’t appreciate people that cause a scene or make our wait any longer than is necessary.
