This is risky... What you do is not extend during news of job growth or through some type of incentive for businesses to create new jobs (tax cuts). By just doing this outright...it could easily backfire on the GOP and the Dems will have a field day.

You do the right thing and let the chips fall where they may.

That’s not what they are doing though. Many here want the GOP to cut benefits because you thin the unemployed are lazy. That’s not why they want the benefits cut.

The GOP is saying they will vote to extend the benefits if there is a way to pay for them without tacking it on to the national debt.

Telling voters they are lazy in the middle of an economic downturn is a great way to lose elections and appear completely out of touch with the country.
