and to think all this time I thought jobs come from business, not from unemployed people.
Guess what? Businesses aren’t hiring! Fix THAT problem and then the UI extension isn’t an issue.
I know this is anecdotal, but I work with someone who is receiving unemployment benefits. They closed the hospital she was working at and now she works part-time. As long as she doesn't work over a certain number of hours she still gets the benefits. Naturally, she doesn't want to work too many hours and will often give away shifts to manage it. I can't help but think this happens elsewhere.
Point being, she is perfectly able to work more hours, but why should she when she can get free cash courtesy of her co-workers.
