>Are the eco fecal freaks right about anything?
Here’s what worries me...Speaking of sediment, what happens when all the rocks and dirt above sea
level eventually erode into the oceans? That will FLOOD THE WHOLE EARTH!!! What are
we doing about earth erosion now? Our offspring will all need boats!
At the rate we are extracting oil from the earth your scenario is bound to happen. We are removing more oil mass than volcanoes are creating new land mass.
We all DOOMED.....*bong hit*
I can here Algore saying that with a straight face.
Have you also considered the dangers of soil compaction?
All the people walking around of the earth will eventually compact the soil down to sea level - resulting in a calamity like the one you described.
We must act NOW to limit human walking and thereby save our precious earth from the ravages of soil compaction.
Well, it happened before. And if it happens again, it will be for pretty much the same reasons.

Tin foil stuff. The REAL worry is that if we keep punching holes in the sea floor, the water will drain INTO the hollow core of the earth!
Or gills.
It is unlikely that all the rocks will erode into the sea. Just as earth is being worn down, it is also being built up at earthquake fault lines, and by volcanoes. The Aleutian chain of islands is very young, so is Hawaii, and Iceland The Himalayan Mountains are also very young, and were caused when India “slamed” into Asia, I think around 40 million yers ago. The Rocky Mts. and the Andies are older, and the Appalacians are much older, maybe 300 million years.
Since new species evolve on the average every 5 million years, humans will have either advanced to an unimaginable degree, or be completely gone like the dinosaurs, but the creatures who are around if the earth ever wears down will absolutely not be us.
i could use a boat now. nothing too fancy, nice 40hp outboard is fine
