LAKE FOREST Roxy, an 8-month old German shepherd puppy that was rescued this week by Coastal German Shepherd Rescue after a flood of donations from Orange County pet lovers, is recovering well from surgery.
The black and tan shepherd is slowly waking up after being sedated following a two-hour surgery to help reconnect elbow joints in her two front legs a condition that German shepherds are genetically predisposed to.

A man is visiting a farm when he notices a pig with a peg leg. He asks the farmer what happened.
The farmer said, "That's an amazing pig, that pig made me rich. It was sniffing around and it discovered truffles."
"But", the man asked, "How did it come to have a wooden leg?"
The farmer said, "That is a truly amazing pig. It saved my children's lives. There was a fire in the house, and that pig woke the children up in time for them to get out of the house."
"But you still haven't explained the wooden leg."
"A pig like that you don't eat all at once."

Not a happy ending at our house today. We put our 12 year old cocker to sleep this afternoon. She was blind and had cancer. Yesterday afternoon she began throwing up and quit eating. She was also sleeping most of the time so we knew her time had come. I love her and will miss her so much. Tonight my heart is breaking. We have lost both of our cockers this year. Our 6 year old Toby to dilative cardiomyopathy in Jan and 12 year old Lacie to breast cancer.

I am very sorry for your family’s losses.
To: kalee
Kalee, I’m so sorry for your loss. We had to put our Golden down last month. Sam was 13 and a cherished member of our family. Dealing with his passing, I can empathize with your sorrow and grief.
