Can’t disagree, but that still doesn’t resolve the issue.
If anyone on this Site thinks Abortion will be outlawed in its entirety, I would like to see them explain how that will happen.
Over one half of the U.S population are women, and many of those considered “conservative” think that Abortion, albeit within very narrow guidelines, should not be banned entirely.
If you put outlawing Abortion with no exception to a Nationwide vote, it would lose. Without exemptions for the Mother’s life, incest and rape, it would not even be close.
I have always believed that viability is the tipping point for most people. I could be wrong, but I think you have to work to limit something that has almost become a “shall not be infringed” issue to Liberals. They think if they give up one inch, I.E. banning Partial Birth Abortion, all of their supposed “abortion rights” will diappear overnight.
I certainly don't have the answer and I am not trying to push any buttons here. It's just a topic that has no way of being resolved.
Folks who call themselves "pro-life" supporting politicians who won't stand for the unalienable rights of ALL most certainly doesn't "resolve the issue." It merely extends it off into the future. With millions more innocent, defenseless little children butchered.
And there's always the question of how much longer God Almighty is going to put up with it. Know what I mean?
"God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever."-- Thomas Jefferson
Oh come on, we all know Bart Stupak had Obumbles sign an executive order that abortion was not included in Obamacare.
Remember?/sarc
It's quite simple, actually.
All that is required is that everyone who calls themselves a Christian in this country make the imperative demand that every officer of government, in every branch and at every level, keep their oath to "secure the Blessings of Liberty to Posterity." And then back up that demand without compromise in the political arena.
Problem solved. Justice restored. America is preserved in liberty.
If you refuse to return to America's founding principles and won't make such a demand you're part of the problem, whether you will admit it or not.
I will assume that is a general comment on the status of our current society and not directed to me personally. My comments on this subject are based on the reality of the situation, not what I would like to happen.
As an Retired Navy Chief who used to work for me always said, “you can wish in one hand and spit in the other and see which one fills up first”.
If you say you're pro-life but are willing to support politicians who really aren't, that's pretty much all you're doing, right there.
Actions must accompany the words, or, like I said, you're part of the problem.
And one of the few real actions one can look at in politics in America is who you support for public office.
This IS NOT about what I believe about Abortion, I personally find it deplorable.
I try to base my opinions on the reality facing us. The rest of the Country has a different view of things. You need not look any further than the Election of Nobama to see that. Even with the 63 House wins, many of those races won were too close for comfort, that is the reality.
Don't make this personal, because it isn't. I have my opinion about this and you have yours. That is why we are here to discuss things and to get different perspectives about the subject at hand.
Good Night.
Defeatism helps the other side.
And, like I told you, if the abortion holocaust isn’t stopped, and soon, America will not survive.
So, like every great American throughout our history, you simply do what is right and what must be done no matter the likelihood of victory.
As George Washington said:
“Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair; the event is in the hands of God.”
I'll put it another way, you have to walk before you run.
The only way to defeat Abortion On Demand is to begin to roll it back to Viability, which was supposed to be the original defining line in the sand. Viability was lost in the argument, and now we have a Political Party that defends Infanticide, which is the real definition of Partial Birth Abortion.
Do you remember the outrage from the Left when outlawing Partial Birth Abortion was being argued in Congress? I do.
Once the argument stops at Viability, you work on the societal acceptance of Abortion as a principle. The reality is that we have a long way to go before we get there. Hearts and minds, isn't that the goal?
It’s exactly that sort of arbitrary nonsense that got us to where we are. Wake up.
Human life begins at its creation, its biological inception. A human person exists at that moment. It’s a fact, one that has been established scientifically beyond any shadow of doubt.
And our Constitution’s clear words protect the life of every innocent person, and imperatively demand that every person be provided the equal protection of the laws.
All that is lacking are officers of government who will keep their oath to uphold that document in law and practice.
Your position is anti-life, sir, and unconstitutional.
I don't have a “position”. I have an opinion based on the reality of the current make up of the Legislative Branch of the Federal Government, the Supreme Court and Society at large.
(I would also list the Executive Branch, but we already know Obama supports Infanticide and is beyond redemption).
If you think those three entities share your view and I am mistaken, so be it. Unlike Justice Scalia, I think unborn life and the Constitutional idea of a “person” are one in the same. However, his opinion, and the opinions of his fellow Justices outweigh mine.
I am not here to make enemies. I respect your views as I respect the views of other FReepers who take the time and have the dedication to the Conservative cause.
I really don't like getting into these back and forth with no end postings. You have convinced yourself that I am giving in to the Progressive enemy, and I am convinced that is not the case. Either way, I'm sure other posters have read things we have both written that give them pause.
Those who are pushing “viability” are pushing an anti-life arbitrary standard, no matter what else they may say.
There is nothing arbitrary about the existence of human life. It either is or it is not. There are no shades of gray when it comes to life and death. You’re either alive or you’re not.
The first principle of America is that our rights come from our Creator, not from any man or state, and that they are therefore unalienable. And the right to life is the supreme right. Defend it, or at least quit pretending that you are when you’re not.
And don’t hide behind the unconstitutional views of judges. No matter what they do, your duty to fight for life and liberty remains the same.
Move on to the next Poster you disagree with.
I'm getting dizzy going around in circles, we're done.
We're done. Thanks for coming by.
