Nobody is safe.
Velma Hart, who burst onto the media scene after telling President Obama she was scared about her financial future, has been laid off. Hart was let go as the chief financial officer for Am Vets, a nonprofit Maryland-based veteran services organization.
Hart has become another casualty of the tough economy in which so many people have lost their jobs.
"It's not anything she did," said Jim King, the national executive director of Am Vets. "She got bit by the same snake that has bit a lot of people. It was a move to cut our bottom line. Most not-for-profits are seeing their money pinched."
King would not say whether the organization had had other layoffs.
"Velma was a good employee," he said. "It was just a matter of looking at the bottom line and where could we make the best cuts and survive."
King hadn't seen the irony in Hart being fired just two months after she emotionally told Obama about her fears for her own financial well-being during a town hall meeting in Washington.

She probably voted Democrat this past election anyway.
I’m having a private beer summit tonight to mourn her dismissal.
She'll get a job with the Democrat Party.
paybacks are hell. tin foil hat, sorry
Well, I am having a hard time feeling sorry for her.
Now she has more time to go defending 0bama.
It is not so private ... I am having one or two with you!
Her experience will come in handy in the future since Obama and the Dems and turning all American businesses into non-profits.
“...having a beer...”

cheers!
That “snake that bit her” is Obama.
I recall hearing her question and I thought to myself... here is a woman who can afford two private school tuitions, probably lives in a nice house, both she and her husband are employed... why in the world did she vote for Obama? Did she not think that her “stuff” was at risk for being lost? Did she believe that O was going to make her life any better? Welcome to the real world, lady. Just a thought.
Obama will probably name her his Job loss Czar or something......Or she will be at his next speech....Asking Barry to buy her a house with his Stimulus “Stash”...
No accident that she lost her job.
Lots of payback since the midterms.
The woman spoke honestly and for that she was punished.
Identity politics is very powerful.
There is no denying that blacks have felt like second class citizens for a long time. I can easily understand her voting for Obama and hoping for the best.
She has my sympathy.
Thats what I was thinking, too.
Join the club lady. Maybe next time you won’t vote for the Hopey-changey-we-need-a-black-man-in-the-white-house candidate. In 2012 try casting an intelligent vote.
This same woman who told Obama that she was “exhausted trying to defend him” probably has isn’t exhausted from blaming Bush.
I do feel bad for ANYONE who loses their job.
Regardless of her political leanings, she was a worker and not on the dole at the time of her discussion with Obama.
Yes, he's called "Thulsa Obama"...
Hope you understand the reference....
Yes she was. You cannot speak out against the Great Oz....Let us send her a copy of “The Road to Serfdom” and maybe next election cycle she will run for the House of Represenatives as a Tea Party Conservative...
