This is a total non-event. With the throats of the runways like they are they probably realized too late that they were passing up the last option to get off the runway.

I don’t know the weather conditions at Sea-Tac. I am 3 hours to the west and we presently have about 3’ of that white global warming stuff on my roof.

You're in the ocean? On a fishing boat?

3 feet. It started yesterday and it’s been nonstop until about an hour ago. Outside temp is now 25*. Forecast says it will be sunny tomorrow but still below freezing, then the next day the snow is supposed to start up again. We expect a tough winter.

Nope. That’s a little ways from here. And I was down below anyhow.

Nothing at all about it on local Seattle news. Must not be much of an event.

What is the elevation of Port Angeles?

Looks like it will be pulled out and taxi back on it’s own. Just a little slippery and couldn’t stay on the runway.

I wish I was living on a boat, but no. Mine is only a 28 footer... we have camped on it for as much as 4 weeks, but it’s really too small to live on.

I live on a mountain at the base of the Olympic Mountains. It’s situated on what is called the North Olympic Peninsula. I look out at the Straight of Juan de Fuca and then 19 miles across is Victoria, BC.

The actual Pacific ocean is about 1 hour further west from me. BUT, the boat launch is only 15 minutes from my house. LOL

I love it here, but I do not like the snow and the winter winds.

It starts out on the waterfront—sea level. Then it goes UP, UP, UP to Hurricane Ridge (at least a mile, I think). Probably the most beautiful place in the world—you can sit on your deck (facing north) and see the lights of Victoria, Canada; you can look out your window (facing south) and see the incredibly beautiful Olympics.

I don’t remember snow this early. Years ago I flew out of Sea-Tac many times and don’t ever remember snow kept us from flying out. Now we did have sleet and had to be de-iced sometimes.

I just read that is a plum blossom flower on the tail. They replaced their national flag with that to avoid diplomatic problems.

When I look out my bathroom window I smell the mud flats of Humboldt Bay but it has only snowed 4 times in the 56 years I have lived here...

That was my question, as well. Perhaps since it was shorter, it was easier for the snowplow crews?

I know the BC ferries operate out of PA but does it snow at sea level there? How long is the ferry ride to Victoria?

They slid off the runway proper, but remained on the pavement.
