Unbelievable. All politicians should be able to anything they want without negative consequences including being voted out of office for said offenses. Just make sure ya’ll are ready to sacrifice EVERYTHING to let them have their way.

He will win this the entire trial was a lesson in BS. The appeals court will shove it up the DA’s ass.

How in the world can they tell if a juror is a “Liberal Independent”? That’s not a party registration.

*************************

In Austin, that means they are too extreme or too weird or BOTH, to fit in the leftist-activist Democrat machine that runs Austin, and has for decades.

Ask any Texas FReeper —

The trial was heard in Travis County (Austin) a liberal hotspot in a red state. Political shenanigans galore, and DeLay isn’t the first victim.

Look for a reversal upon appeal.

When I read the composition of the jury I was expecting this.

I’ve followed a bit and know there were several attempts by a rogue jackal prosecutor to indict via spurious grand juries. Delay spent 8 million on lawyers per his appearance on Huckabee earlier this year.

I should backtrack Michelle Malkin but I’m sure was she (and her pal Laura Ingraham) were claiming Nancy Pelosi did near same, difference being CA did not allow this while Texas did. NP paid fine to FEC. Am I dreaming?

If Delay is guilty he should be punished.

And he should receive the same punishment Rangel will receive for his clear-cut case of tax evasion.

Isn’t this the same spot in Texas where the fake national guard memos about Dubya originated?

Why couldn’t he get a change of venue for the trial, out of Austin? For $8 million his lawyers should have been able to show that Austin juries are biased and got the trial moved somewhere else. I’m not sure about Texas, but changes of venue happen all the time in other states. If this is a conviction for a state crime, one option DeLay may have is for Gov. Perry to pardon him or commute his sentence to time served and a fine (if he serves any time.)

The law making these “charges” illegal WAS NOT WRITTEN OR IN EFFECT when he did this. He did nothing wrong. It was NOT illegal at the time. I am no Delay fan, but the verdict is clearly wrong. Appeal!

The only way he could have won in Travis County would have been if the Democrats would have killed in the mid term elections and they were still in charge. This is payback for the demolition Democrats in Texas just went through across the country and Texas.

No way he could get a fair trail in San Franaustin.
