Why is President Barack Obama — the son of a white mother from Kansas and a black father from Kenya — considered a black man?

He associated with blacks, went to a black church, and in his books he said he considers himself black. This is not rocket science.

He’s not a black man. It’s worse than that, but we can’t say the word.

Whatever Obama is, he is not one of us. He is a stranger in our land.

NOBAMA 2012 has self-defined himself as part of the black or African American community.everything he does has a racial component.

"I identify as African-American _ that's how I'm treated and that's how I'm viewed. I'm proud of it." - Barack Obama

How much did this study cost?

Obama is liberalism incarnate. He is not black or white but rather colored in shades of gray.

Well, that's the way it works...see...follow the money. If someone can prove they have a single drop of black blood, then they becomes a "minority", and all kinds of worlds open up to them that they never had before.

Seriously though...when has obama EVER defended white people...he called his own (white) grandmother a 'typical white person'.

Remember, it doesn't matter what they call you, only what you answer to...

Obamolester is a “man”? Really? Do you have any proof of that? It’ll be a first...that being “proof” of any kind.

I don’t give a stupid Kennedy about his race.

I do give a lot of care about the fact that he is a witless incompetent boob.

UC Davis researcher examines why many consider Barack Obama a black man

I think it's because someone in the media may have mentioned that he's black. I seem to recall hearing something about that once or twice.

Thanks for posting one of the most hilarious stories of the week.

I don't see Obama as a black man. Not in the American sense, anyway. He acts whiter and snobbier than most white people I know, and he has no distinguishable American traits, white or black. He seems like he would be extremely uncomfortable in traditional black American settings (or for that matter, traditional white American settings). Can you imagine this guy in a Baptist church, for example? Or at a rap concert? Or an R&B concert for that matter? Or any concert? Can you see him at a backyard BBQ? Can you see this damned fraud doing anything American at all?

Because that's how he self-describes himself? Because he is hostile to his Caucasian half?

I've known American "blacks" who were as fair as I am, but they wanted to be called blacks, so I humored them. The whole business of race annoys me. I may have German, Scots, English, and Cherokee DNA, but I am none of those things. I am an American, I suppose of mixed race.

Given where part of the family comes from, some distant African blood would not surprise me or appall me--but I wouldn't start calling myself black, either. I'd still be the same American.
