Alaska gov: Interior’s climate-change polar bear decision hinders oil drilling

Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell (R) is slamming the Interior Department’s designation of large Arctic regions as “critical habitat” for polar bears threatened by climate change, alleging the decision will slow oil-and-gas drilling.

The designation requires federal agencies to consult with Interior’s U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service before allowing or funding actions that could harm the bear’s northern Alaskan habitat.

“Such consultations are increasingly being misused to challenge responsible resource development,” Parnell said in a prepared statement Wednesday. “This additional layer of regulatory burden will not only slow job creation and economic growth here and for our nation, but will also slow oil and gas exploration efforts.”

Agreed! States need to stand up and say “Screw you Obama, we’re drilling. It’s our oil and our land, not the Federal Governments.”

Attn Alaskans:
Shoot them all and solve the problem.

Just use Sabot rounds so that they cant trace the bullets back to your rifle.

The House should pass legislation that requires the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service managers and staff from GS 9 and above visit the polar bear habitat for at least 2 days each year and ascertain the health of at least one bear on each trip.

Sure, it'll be a great trip to Alaska, but to avoid hurting the bears the legislation will have prohibited the use of remote viewing devices or sedatives.

This will be an upfront, close to top level validation process.

A nation that cannot produce from abundant natural resources.
That ships it's manufacturing base to foreign countries.
That imports most of its food.
That depends on nations who harbor malice for its energy.
That borrows its currency into existance creating perpetual debt.
That views its citizens as the enemy.
That elects unqualified individuals who scorn the nations traditions to the highest office.
That refuses to secure its boarders from an invading hoard who are intent on pilliging the Treasury.
(feel free to add to this. It can grow to be a lengthy list)

IS DESTINED TO FAIL

I say again, there needs to be a threat on the table to simply shoot and kill ALL polar bears in Alaska. THAT would eliminate the problem.

Oil is what makes capitalism work and provides free people with the freedom to come and go as they please.

The communists hate capitalsm and need to control the freedoms of the "stinky" (Harry Reid) unwashed masses.

The communists have taken control of the governments around the world, including the United States.

I yearn for the day that a state tells the Federal Govt to remove its buildings and people from the environs of the state EXCEPT for the ones specifically necessary to provide what they are legally responsible for in the 10th amendment. What would it be? Defense, special teams and the the QB’s? This crap of them owning and controlling unused land has to end. You and I both know that it is going to be used, if it hasn’t already, as collateral for the Federal debt.

Poorly worded, everything they are legally responsible for outside of what is set aside for states, in the tenth amendment.....Turkey hangover.
