Snow chaos costs Scots economy £50m a day (Global Warming Alert)

THE worst November snowfalls in 17 years plunged Scotland into chaos as business leaders warned the freezing conditions would cost the country more than £50 million a day - mainly in lost Christmas trade.

Heavy snow up to 16 inches deep in places saw main roads closed and police warned those not making vital journeys to stay at home, as it was predicted that the "horrendous" winter conditions are set to get even worse later this week.

Edinburgh and Glasgow airports were closed by the snowfall, while many bus and rail services were suspended.

Hundreds of schools are expected to remain closed today. Last night Midlothian Council announced that all schools in its area were to close. All schools in Dundee will also be closed

The Scottish Government and local authorities insisted they had done everything in their power to keep roads open yesterday and have stockpiled 360,000 tonnes of salt to avoid shortages. However, the full economic impact on Scotland of the severe weather was put at £53m a day by insurance experts, who said the early onset of severe weather could see the final total reach a staggering £5 billion.

LOL, 16 inches of snow? That’s all? Hell I live in NJ and we had THREE storms last year and all of them were over 20 inches with one being over 30 inches. Everything back to normal in 24 hrs, maybe 36 in places but those places are mostly uninhabited.

Now we know for sure that climate paranoia is running wild.

Or maybe this is just the sound of desperate academics trying to get their government research grants renewed.

He's at his palace in sunny California. He's not so stupid that he believed his own BS.

Unusual early snow in Scotland ? Must be an isolated blip on the way to catastrophic global warming. No snow at all here in the US. /sarc.
