Dr. Dean calls the Tea Party ignorant because they don’t understand what’s in the Constitution, but he can’t grasp “Congress Shall Make No Law”.
That’s their plan.
I guess he wasn’t watching FoxNews Sunday with Claire McKill and Lindsey Graham. I saw the line-up and flipped the channel. Couldn’t do it. Sorry Chris. I did turn it back on later.
When was the last time you heard of the 10th or even the 9th Amendments being cited in a law or a court case? Ever since the FDR Supreme Court of the late 1930s, these two Amendments appear to have been mostly dead letters.
Amendment 9 - The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
Amendment 10 - The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
The problem with these two Amendments is that unlike most of the rest of the Constitution and Amendments and indeed other laws, there are no specific actions required or forbidden in these. This fact, combined with the whole-sale looting of power through the "Commerce Clause" (Section 1 Article 8 "Powers of Congress") - To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes; is what has given us our ever expanding Federal Government. I strongly blame FDR!!!
