Thanks for the link. The audio is so bad, I can’t make out anything the guy is saying. His demeanor seems awfully cavalier giving the gravity of the situation, but then again, maybe it’s because I can’t hear anything.

Prayers are the best we can do for now. Anything else is a waste of time and time we should be praying instead.
The situation began at 3:10 PM in Marinette. A teacher in choir area, notified the principal. The principal evacuated the rest of the school and closed it down. the police and fire deptartments arrived. Marinette is a small city in northeastern wisconsin across the river is Menominee, Michigan.
Marinette high school is on the south side of the town, it is approximately 1 mile from the hospital. It is a large complex, so it is understandable that the building being evacauted than the fire department being called. Keep inmind the police department is within a mile of the school.
The news release was encouraging parents, friends and family to report to the court house around 3:50. That may be the reason for the confusion. The media was not informed until 3:50. I believe more police arrived from other communities to assist with the situation.
At 6:50 there was a report made on Fox11 news but it was garbled and not undertandable. I will post when I find out more.
In the sense there are no CCWs in WI, it’s pretty much a gun free state.
We used to live across the river in Menominee, MI, about 3 miles away from the high school location. (We moved away 22 years ago.) My younger daughter was born in Marinette. I used to drive all over that community and I can not remember the Marinette High School at all! It’s making me feel old. I pray that there is a good outcome to this.

The information that just was released at 7:00PM CST 1 student has 23 students and 1 teacher hostage, police were notified, . Swatteam from Green Bay is expected to arrive shortly no injuries as of the 7:00 report.

I went to college in Green Bay and lived in Menominee for about a year for my hours necessary to utilize my masters in social work, i moved further into the Western UP of Michigan where there was a need for licensed social workers.
We used to live on First Street (in the house with the elevator!) My husband worked at the hospital in Marinette and we were members at Christ Lutheran Church in Menominee.
I live near Green Bay. Been to Marinette several times, nice small town.
Prayers for a quick and safe resolution. And more information on the dynamics that drove the perp to this.
