That would be the middle of his fourth term. When he ran in 2008 I figured his goal was to become President-for-Life, like Fidel, Mugabe, and Hugo Chavez. After the rise of the tea party movement, I decided he probably wouldn’t be able to get around the two-term limit. This suggests he may still hope to stay in office more than 8 years. He’ll need at least one more liberal justice to be sitting on the Supreme Court to get around the 22nd amendment. Maybe he expects to be able to appoint that person in his second term.
Do you think the Dems really want him around for even 4 more years? I think they can’t wait for him to get the hell out of there. They aren’t all idiots.
