I was thinking a landslide was the cause of the 5’ observed wave (tsunami).

there is also the Hudson canyon that goes from NYC all the way to the continental shelf...there could have been a slide there.

also, the weight of thousands of feet of ice on the coast of the north east during the last ice age is still experiencing spring back, that is felt as quakes.....
