what percentage alcohol is that? I mean, you can’t go pat 100 per can you?
"Proof" is twice the alcohol content. 190 proof is 95% alcohol.
95%.
As a semi-professional imbiber, please allow me to explain.
100 Proof = 50% Alcohol
190 Proof = 95% Alcohol
Beer and wine are measured in %ABV.
Spirits are measured in proof.
“Proof” refers to the method once used to test alcohol content, 190 proof is 95% alcohol. It’s meant to be diluted and flavored to produce homemade cordials, drinking it straight is an act of madness.

100 proof = firewater.
Supposedly the Indians so as to not get ripped off when trading for whiskey, would try to ignite the product. If it burned then they were 100% sure that they could get sh** faced...thus firewater.
