Given that he didn't run in until 1976

Your command of facts is always underwhelming.

I'm thinking you're being snarky, or perhaps you don't understand that the war upon America by liberals is very real, and while we sit here and post on FR, she is in the forefront of a real battle. She takes hits, we (some of us) snark.

Snark? Who, me?

My dear Mr Lakeshark, are you sure you haven't confused me with another poster?

;-)

C'mon--smile, I know you can.

I still say that many of the "hits" she takes are self-inflicted.

Whether this stems from poor advice, or not listening to good advice, I really don't know. And, to be brutally honest, I no longer care.

Our biggest threat is from inside right now, and you should understand that very real fact after the past few years. We are very close to losing our status as "that shining city on a hill", and you should stop aiming at Sarah Palin and start aiming at the libs who are running us off the hill, extinguishing all light, and running us into the ground.

I actually agree with you about the harms perpetrated by the socialist/progressive programs coming out of government (at all levels, advanced by both Dems and Republicans) in the last few years.

But, my very dear Mr Lakeshark, I am sorry to say, I simply don't see Mrs Palin as a solution.

Please do not allow that comment to spoil your day or your weekend in any way. I want you to be happy.

Humor is almost always good, and at smiling, I do just fine.

Snarking? I can compete....

:-)

As to "many" of the hits being self inflicted, I would go with "some" instead. She's got her problems, but then so do all of them, it's called the common human condition of imperfection.

There are some pretty liberal republicans, and some who have no idea why they do what they do (read, clueless), but the past two years they have been pretty darn good, particularly since they lost their collective way in some areas the 8 years before. To give the two parties total equivalence is simply silly. There are no conservative democrats and there haven't been for about a decade (not that there were so many before that), heck I'm not sure I can find a "moderate" democrat anywhere. All conservatives are republican, although not all republicans are conservative, however there are still too many of the moderate or clueless stripe.

As to Palin being "the answer", no politician is going to be the answer. As far as politicians go, she seems as good as any we have, better than most (even historically), better than any the republicans we have at the moment, and will likely be a good fit if she decides to run.

We shall see.

Yes, I know. ;)

I'm sorry I left you with that impression, Mr Lakeshark.

I cannot argue with that. Nicely said.

At this time, I'm going to decline any further comment and just jump down to the "We shall see part" and completely agree with you there.

A very pleasant day to you, Mr Lakeshark.

Thank you for the link, Mr Lakeshark. I will read the article.

However, I think I liked it better when you sent me news of the loser (Detroit) Lions.

I know you were laughing when you posted that.....

Now remind me, who was right about the Lions?

it naturally follows I'm right about the good governor too........

From your own linked article, Mr Lakeshark. Yeah, I know, it's a little out of context...

...Conservatives are more skeptical about politicians who inspire so much passion in millions of people. Well, skepticism is a good thing....

Ha! I'm right again! Thanks!

:)

Regan was pilloried as a dunce by elitists form the left and right form his days as a governor to his second term as president. He was label a B-movie actor by his detractors until the day he died because they were too shallow to articulate any real deficiencies he had.

I have yet to hear a compelling reason that would render her unfit to serve as President. What I do see is a lot of PDS suffers whining about reality shows and quiting the Alaska Governorship and a whole lot of regurgitation of MSNBC type "facts". The PDS crowd is as sad as the COP (Cult of Palin) crowd.

Actually, you've got it backwards. She's unelectable precisely because of what she lacks.

I disagree, and until someone can post a real deficency I'll consider her a qualified viable candidate, unlike Romney or Huckabee.

However, the cult following she enjoys is precisely due to who she is and has nothing to do with her policy ideas or qualifications for the job of president.

It's comments like this that throughly discredit anyone with PDS as much as the Palin-can-do-no-wrong comments discredit the COP crowd. Get a grip; she's articulated policy positions constantly for the past few years and the majority of her statements are solidly conservative. I have problems with her flip flop on TARP and her endorsement of McCain (I can understand loyalty but c'mon) but for the most part she's as good to go or better than anyone who's been the "R" nominee for the last 20 years.

Your command of facts is always underwhelming.

Okay, so he ran in 1968 for the first time. My basic point still stands: he obviously did not feel he was ready to be president in 1957 if the first time he ran was 11 years later.

The point doesn't stand at all...it may have had nothing to do with readiness. He may have merely thought he couldn't beat Eisenhower or that there was no need to challenge Ike for the nomination.

If you laid off the conjecture you'd have very little to post. LOL

Lol, the herd is already being thinned. I’ve been seeing it on some threads and wondering just how bad it can get in the next two years! So long to go yet and things are mean already.

I don’t remember about Reagan, guess I wasn’t as into politics at that time. I liked him and that was it!

For a Fox News anchor (starting rumors here) you need to beef up on your celebrity name spelling........

Not to mention, the man who invented the use of that name for BS agrees with me and not you. He's 99.6% (or thereabouts) correct.

Thank you, Mr Lakeshark, I'll be sure and make a note.

I wish you a most pleasant evening.

He’s perfectly defined when he’s called a troll.
***Pissant is no troll. He’ll keep us honest. And if you’re whining about 6 trolls, get a freeping life. When we were in the trenches with tootyfruityrudybot trolls, there were dozens of them, many of whom VOLUNTARILY committed freepercide.

Too, they have no stated candidate of their own, so they can take selective pot-shots
***We saw the same thing with tootyfruityrudybots a couple of years ago. But this time around there’s a conservative with name recognition. She has a real chance.
