Obama had no choice but to toe the line. Had he not protected Americans from that freak show it would have ignited a world of kangaroo courts. Leftist judges of different nations indicting heads of states because they don’t like their politics. Obama would have been greatly diminished as a President if he let that freak show play out...and he’s smarter than the teleprompter lets on.
For the first year and a half or so in office, Obama trashed Bush every time he opened his mouth, but even he realized letting a foreign government try a former President for “war crimes” wouldn’t go over with the public (apart from the mainstream media and academic circles). Even a lot of Democrats would have been outraged by that spectacle.
