Well, if they don't want Christmas mentioned, practiced, or reference to, they shouldn't have the day off from teaching. Seems to me, the majority of the parents should stop worrying about the minority and exercise their rights as parents. . . join the PTA, get on the school board, etc. and let their wants and concerns be known.

... put the nativity scene in their front yard and do everything possible to show Christmas.

...Already took care of that!

It is in St Mary, Seminole County. Here is the districts response:

November 29, 2010

The school district of Seminole County would like to correct the recent news stories regarding the "ban of red and green" at Heathrow Elementary School in Lake Mary, Florida. The banning of red and green is simply not true.

Out of respect for their diverse community, the common practice for December classroom activities has been a winter theme which can include red, green, or any color.

Unfortunately the principal of the school was not contacted by any parent prior to the news stories. Parents are encouraged to contact the principal with any questions relating to school policies and practices.

Being a native Floridian from a small town, I know they are on a very hot seat right about now...

Heathrow Elementary School is in Longwood/Lake Mary (Orlando outskirts). A very affluent area filled with snobby and Politically Correct drones.

Most people who celebrate Kwanzaa also celebrate Christmas; it’s just something extra for them.

And yeah, I know the truth about Kwanzaa and I think it’s a stupid holiday, I’m just saying that most people lighting those green and black candles will be doing so with a Christmas tree in the background.

That’s great. But will we stop sending our kids to these re-education camps?
Will we have insurrection over the billions of tax dollars poured into these cesspools?
Oh, no! “Because I want my son on the football team...blah, blah, blah.”
I do my best not to purchase anything with a “greenie” label on it, especially food. I know, I know, I’m fighting windmills. But, if it’s sugar free, fat free, salt free, flavor free, organic, chemical warfare free, and has any green on the label, I say, “Drop dead.”
I figure I’ve consumed enough artificial preservatives I will live forever.
So there!

And when the majority make their will known,
the minority head off to some judge who dictates
that the majority must yield.

This is probably old news by new, but there is a post on the Gateway Pundit site that reads:

So, not sure what this room mom was referring to or if she cares to come forward with some proof of any memo or communication, but seems it was maybe it’s a non-story after all.

You’re right. The school is denying the report about banning colors. They’re simply doing what a lot of schools do, focusing on snowflakes, snowmen, and evergreens instead of Santa, angels, and presents.

I insist the schools ban red yellow green and black- Kwanzaa truly does offend me

ban green twice because it is the color of islam and a reminder of beliefs that I dont share and that may offened me

and blue and white - because I am not Jewish and do not want to be offended that others are

SARC

where does it end?
Looks like the kids will be wearing pink purple and brown this month

I never heard a Judge declare that schools can not mention Christmas or Santa. It’s the Superintendent who makes those decisions.

Kwanzaa is a made-up holiday . . . but don’t ban Kwanzaa and surely do not ban any Muslim Celebration. The fit would hit the shan should someone suggest that Muslim Students not be allowed to practice their religion in the U.S. public schools.
Only the Christians are now persecuted . . . and to think of all the brave men and women who fought to keep this country free . . .look what it has become.

ah yeah, things sure must have changed in those small central/northern Florida towns, to make them so “diverse” that any sight or sound of Christianity offends people
