Censured and then what?

1) Does he pay the back taxes that he owes?

2) Does he pay a fine for mis-using his rent controlled apartments for political purposes?

3) Will he still be helping to write our tax laws?

If the answers are NO, NO and YES to the above, Censure is nothing but a lot of meaningless saliva.

I won’t mind simply being censured by the IRS if I don’ pay my taxes.

Rangel was told to stand in the House well as the censure was read by Pelooser and he was told to pay restitution and provide proof of payment for unpaid taxes relating to the 11 ethics violations.

No fines, nothing else, just the 'embarrassment' of the censure. And, after watching it, I'd have to say there was little embarrassment involved.
