I’ll stick to my interpretation of events regarding Pelosi and Obama.

Pelosi staying and being Minority Leader may be a case of “Nancy Being Nancy.” And I don’t think the White House has anything to do with what she “decides.” She does what is best for her, according to her own demented thoughts.

The interesting part for me is that there seem to be two Nancys-—the pre ‘08 election Nancy and the post-election Nancy. She was always ambitious and controlling but once Obama took Bush’s place in the White House, she turned into a monster. Her performance as Speaker has been unbelievably high-handed, even though she started as Speaker in January ‘07. She really ran roughshod over the Republicans, the Blue Dogs, and the will of the American People and did it with total impunity. She even got away with the CIA smears. You can say all that is coincidental but I say it was the behavior of somebody who thinks they can get away with murder. And her “get out of jail card” is the cetificate of Obama’s eligibility she signed at the convention. To me, that’s the best explanation.

And to me, Nancy’s behavior in ramrodding unpopular legislation in ‘09 and ‘10 is more interesting than her staying on as Leader. We all have to pay the price for that. And I thought from the get-go that there was more behind her cockiness than just having a big new majority: she had a new president in the WH whom she could leverage.

BTW, I strongly resent anybody using the term “birther” because it is straight out of DU and a slur intended to compare people with questions about 0 with the 9-11 Truthers. And there is nothing “silly” about wanting documentation. Obama has produced ZERO documentation that would hold up in an honest court and all his camp’s explanations of his birth narrative are shot full of holes. You know it, I know it, and above all they know it. Which is why they immediately go into Alinsky ridicule mode whenever the subject comes up. They have no solid arguments, just cheap attacks and put-downs.
