She ignores the military survey, she is an abject RINO. Someone beat this Marxist in the next election!
I agree with the first part of her statement. Those serving now are soldiers and patriots.
But that does not mean we need to create civil rights for gays in the military AS GAYS, that we need to drive out heterosexuals, or that we need political cliques of gays in the military. We also don’t need same sex romances within the ranks.
But then that all should be obvious.

The two Dem senators from Arkansas are a good bet to vote against the repeal of DADT. And two other Dem senators Jim Webb and Joe Manchin may also vote against the repeal.

Raising my hand! I shall remain a conservative, Tea Party Republican and Susan Collins has always been a RINO.
She will be TEA Party primaried.
She is unconscionable.
Sen. Collins IS NOT in the US Armed Forces. Why doesn't she "welcome" them into her bedroom and kitchen and workspace; every one of them; every day and night.
Collins is a RINO and always was a RINO. The problem is not with RINOs like Snowe and Collins, who used to be “good” RINOs who behaved themselves. They voted with the leadership on key votes, and were allowed to say what they like when it doesn’t matter.
But it sure as hell DOES matter when these jokers come out with this kind of stuff during the lame duck session when there is a real danger that this stuff will be shoved through like it or not. And then it will be a lot harder, or even impossible, to change it back.
Collins would zip her lip when it matters, if the leadership of the senate had shown any willingness at all to discipline her. They have not. So, what does she have to lose?
The only alternative now is to organize a grass roots campaign to throw her out of the Senate. Maine appears to have swung to the right in this past election, so there might be some hope. I think she may be a bit stupid thinking she can play these business-as-usual games at this particular time.
This is the way with out of touch elitists, no matter what the letter is behind their name.
THEY never have to actually experience the consequences of their own ideas that they impose on everyone else.
How can you welcome someone into something you are not part of?
Kind of like me welcoming some homeless guy into her Senate seat as a full member.
Where does/did she serve, again?
