As South Korea dramatically revised its soft rules of engagement with its northern neighbour, a leading Chinese academic said the North's attack was a misjudgment for which it would pay a high price.
"The immediate cost might be military strike, and the longer-term cost might be large-scale war, resulting in the disappearance of North Korea as a country," Renmin University's Pang Zhongying said.
"But South Korea must consider that before North Korea becomes extinct, it will use up all its weapons, include nuclear weapons."

I doubt it. NK sank that ship without anything being done about it. This latest action will blow over as well. Heck, they could invade and nothing would probably happen.
“the North’s attack was a misjudgment”
The Kim Jung dynasty is absolutely, totally, and irredeemably insane.
Hell we are being invaded here and DO nothing about it! The NK could shell California and nothing would happen.
Sad but true...
There's a bunch of people who believe they already did. CBS had a video of it. It was an ICBM launched from a Chinese built Mini-sub and millions were killed.
China wil never give up territory won in war or otherwise pacified. The KIM family my go but the strings will only be attached to another more compliant puppet>
Hell, I wonder if anything would happen if Mexico tried to sell California*.
*Again.

Good Question,I imagine Obama and the Fed would finance the sale.
Who can blame the norks. They sink Rok ships, shell their cities. No response whatsoever, except to draw yet another line in the sand. North will keep pushing the bayonet in until they hit steel - if there is any.
Let’s see: NK attacks SK and the south has to await a political decision from the US to reply.
Unless SK has a way to prevent all those NK missiles hitting Seoul, then they have to tread lightly. SK should have been prepared for this day.
