Before the old sot died. He had someone take his letter to the Pope... the ultimate arrogance of his self importance... wanting the Pope to personally read it. Reportedly, it was his ‘confession’ (whoever heard of such a thing?). I found it the most appalling display of complete self aggrandizement and arrogance! Then there was all the hoopla about where to hold his funeral. He was denied the use of the Cathedral in Boston, (I remember that much).

I'm glad to hear that! At the time, I didn't want to pay attention to his funeral...
