Certainly, it is their leaders' agenda. But I really don't think they can get there from here. We've already seen some significant defections from the cause. And, so far, the Republicans have stood firm.
The only reason they have not yet passed is that the RINO’s did stand firm on this one issue, no other items will be considered until the tax extensions are passed. Once that is done, the RINO’s can no longer be counted on to block the rest of the liberal agenda, and as we've seen over the last two years, the liberal agenda will be pushed through in the next two weeks once the tax extensions are behind them. What other obscenities will be pushed upon us once the tax cut extension compromise is finished? How much more long term damage to America will be pushed through in the next two weeks? Where is the break even point?
So much for standing firm. This “compromise” is only a tactic from the left to get the liberal agenda voted on prior to the end of this lame duck congress. I fail to see how that is good for this country over the long term. IMO, the Republicans are being played the fools in this "compromise" talk, and we the producers are the ones who are going to suffer for it in the end, one way or another.
