I love how in all of this debate there is no mention — that I have heard — of SPENDING CUTS!!!!

I wish the GOP would go on the offensive right now and push for both extending the Bush tax cuts AND combine that with a proposal for additional tax cuts on all Americans. I'd love to see the Obama/Rats/Media try and spin that.

No surprise here -- in fact, I suspect this was a done deal more than a week ago. I think the extension of the current tax rates was priced into the rise of the U.S. stock market last week.

When you think about it, there's really no way in hell they could ever allow the estate tax to kick back in suddenly. If the estate tax were re-imposed on January 1st of 2011, you'd have a lot of wealthy old people offing themselves by December 31st just to let their heirs keep all of their assets.

As I said in another thread... given the urgency of the moment (since the lame duck session is still Democratic controlled), COMPROMISE on unemployment and a 2 year limit on ALL tax cuts extensions ( including the death tax ).

THEN, come next year, pass a bill to MAKE ALL BUSH TAX CUTS PERMANENT and we’ll have MORE time to fight the Dem Senate and Obama and make this an issue come 2012 if they don’t cooperate.

The term “tax cut” needs to be dropped in favor of “current tax rate extension”. The Dem/Libtards use the term to try to make the current rates appear as an abnormal aberration that needs to be corrected by increasing them. When we use the same phraseology we allow ourselves to be played.
