Parents outraged over finance class reading (NH Conservative Parents Push Back, Liberal Freak Out)
The Union Leader ^ | 12/6/2010 | GREG KWASNIK

BEDFORD – The parents of a Bedford teen are calling for the ouster of school officials who assigned their son a book that refers to Jesus Christ as a "wine-guzzling vagrant and precocious socialist."

"We had almost PhD people letting this fumble through their fingers, and they all said it was grand," said Dennis Taylor, a conservative Christian. "I think there should be a review of these individuals and perhaps some firing done."

Silly Americans.

Schools are for indoctrination of your children to hate America and hate Christ.

Pay up and shut up!

I am involved in NH politics and I see it as Westbrook, losing by attrition. Till I see real changes to conservative positions, it still is going towards socialism in NH. There is not too much difference between John Sununu Republicans and John Lynch Democrats, different wings on the same bird crapping on me the conservative. When that bird is dead, then I will take heart real change has occured.

> You obviously don’t get involved in politics allot.

You’re right. With a nine children at home, two of which are special needs, all home-schooled, a hobby farm with livestock and acreage, and a very demanding full-time job, I don’t have a lot of spare time.

> There is an underground and it is alive, strong, and working.

Haven’t seen much evidence of that.

As far as I can tell, most of the turnover in the last election here was due to the economy, not due to any revulsion to socialism.

We still have the lying communist governor who promised not to sign a sodomite marriage bill and signed it immediately after its passage.

He and his masters are still greedily trying to get their hands on the private medical insurance fund to spend it on the government schools and whatever other socialist fantasies they entertain.

Meanwhile, if you speak out against sodomite “marriage”, as I am doing here, you can find yourself dragged before the NH “Human Rights Commission” where you can be fined into penury and jail time without a jury and without appeal.

“Live Free or Die”

Right ...

We have got to find ways to fight fire with fire or we lose all our freedoms. Obviously they don’t give a damn about our freedoms.

Our freedoms is not what they want. It's our hard-earned money.
Obviously idle losers can't take away anything from anyone.

It's our elected servants who can; and do. Losing our freedoms is just a byproduct of the elected servants pandering to their idle/useless voter base.

The largest unintended consequence of all : Egalitarianism being the termites which undermined the entire Republic.

Alexis deToqueville predicted it all in painful detail ---- in 1835.

Democracy in America; the unabridged version.

You are correct which is why we homeschool.

Look up what NZ did several years ago with public schools..... Free market, parents determine where the kids go and the tax dollars. NZ went from last in the region to 2nd in 6 years by a lot of metrics. Funny things happen when parent and taxpayers make decisions not unions and government employees.

Well it looks like the dtr - Rosa Brooks, is a Special Counsel to Obama - she is closely linked to Soros via OSI...

The Soros Connection

The William J. Clinton Foundation is a major funder of Soros’ OSI...it’s a full circle with these people.

Nice work!
Thank you for verifying my suspicions. Having watched Glenn Beck for the last few months, and seeing the literally hundreds of Soros-funded subversive money-laundering sites, the odds were overwhelmingly weighted in that direction.

You make a good point. My older brother and I attended a Lutheran private grade school and made excellent grades . Through eight grades we ‘learned’ everything from hygene to the Constitution. However, when I reflect on those days the teacher was showing us what we should ‘learn’. It was up to us to absorb and be educated. When we let the education slip our mother(4th grade education) always showed us the way back, sometimes not to our liking.

You really can’t compromise with evil,
and evil IS what these people are.

They are in opposition to God at every turn,
and are actively, if not knowingly, working to
establish the kingdom of Satan here on earth.

I see it a bit different, Sununu brought some well needed organization which the mouth breather Cullen did not provide, but I am involved with and help out the local activists, when I can. There is a movement that is sub tabula and probably stronger than many expect.

Sununu just stepped down, thank god.

Organization is one thing, but killing Jack Kimballs campaign and shiving Ovide are another. Judas Gregg has been a stellar champion of what? Not conservatism for NH.

Ayotte already is hanging out with Juan Mc Pain. Gonna be verying interesting to how she votes....

No War is won in a single battle. It is up to us to keep these people honest, if not may the chains of slavery rest rest lightly on your wrists.

Thanks for doing this. In context, the quote is even worse than it initially appears.

True, but sometimes skirmishes and attritions add up over time, in many ways I see the current situation in NH as a Warsaw ghetto in 1941. Yes the Polish people eventually got free but such suffering to get there.

I already in many ways feel them upon me, and they are not light. Hence the desire to have the option to leave so my family will not see the worst of humanity when the financial wheels come off as Soro and co are working hard to accomplish.

I read the book’s synopsis. The author worked 2 minimum wage jobs in each of 3 cities and wrote about it. That is is. There is NOTHING about finance in the book. There is nothing a student of Finance could learn from the book.

I am a 52 year old licensed Civil Engineer. I would be ruined by what passes for education today. Just ruined. It is no wonder the USA is circling the toilet bowl. The socialist left has ruined most of an entire generation of American. Sorry, there is no recovering from that.

The quality of American education started to decline the moment we forgot that the primary responsibility for educating our kids lies with their parents and only then with school teachers.

The longer I live the more certain I am that this is parents' job one.
But I go beyond that. In my experience, sixteen years of conventional schooling (assuming it's competent and consistent) is simply a preparation. Learning is a lifelong task and having the tools to engage in citizenship is a great start. That's all formal education is.

Reading is the best gift that can be given by parents and a formal education.
