Bloomberg Businessweek reported on December 2 that five GOP leadership aides, speaking anonymously because a decision isn't final, say incoming House Speaker John Boehner has discussed ways to prevent Paul from becoming chairman or to keep him on a tight leash if he does.

No matter how much we disagree on foreign policy and national security with Ron Paul, the action to prevent him from getting appointed to the House Panel can only be motivated by an aim of robbing our money. Boehner should be made to pay in the next election. He is against the Tea Party.

"Boehner should be made to pay in the next election. He is against the Tea Party." Ron Paul doesn't have a damn thing to do with the tea party.

[Boehner] is against the Tea Party. Sounds to me he's against Ron Paul. Which is hardly the Tea Party

You must not be use to the 2 faces that plague the party, 1 to get elected and 2, to keep the same old game going. Two different letters(D)(R), same people.

“keep him on a tight leash”
Good luck with that. It should be amusing to watch Boehner try to do it.

I am not claiming that Ron Paul is the Tea Party, but there can be no denying that Ron Paul comes closest to the economic ideas of the Tea Party. It began purely as a protest against the economic policies.

I take it that you believe that Boehner’s ideas for the budget are preferable to Ron Paul’s or Rand Paul’s.

After Ron Paul coming out in defense of Julian Assange, he should be drummed out of the House completely.

Ron Paul is CERTIFIABLE! He’s right on a few things and wrong on the vast majority.

I'm no fan of Boehner.
I would just like to see Ron Paul, Rand Paul and all Libertarians/libertarians go away, FOREVER!

Jim let me clarify something here. Ron Paul has verbally given aid and comfort to the enemy. He is a 9/11 truther. He is an isolationist. He has said that the Democrats are more fiscally responsible than the GOP (my paraphrase but it’s a correct paraphrase). He has passed the POS line and is in the land of no return. I despise him. I would not piss on him if he were on fire.

The country is going bankrupt and the only one to predict is a loon. Oh well I stand to profit either way.

I’m no Ron Paul fan, but this may be an interesting development within the cocktail party, RINO, GOP elite. A fracture could create an opening for conservatives.

Love to see Ron Paul in that position and I’m not a Paul fan.
Those who oppose may as well vote Democrat next time if they don’t have the manhood to admit that they just want to continue the same crap in DC.

I don’t like Ron Paul for a variety of reasons, so I would happy if Boehner didn’t give him the job... if Boehner would promise that we will nevertheless do a real “review” of the Fed.
Paul has called for the Fed to be audited for a long time, and in the aftermath of the last two years I have come to agree with him. So audit it. And audit Fanny Mae while you’re at it. And audit TARP and the stimulus while we’re at it (does anyone really know where the money went?).
Paul has promised to do it. Will Boehner?
