He was ridiculed by the media in the UK as a clowning blundering buffoon.
He is still on object of derision (but then so is Mgt Thatcher.)
respect is due.....

I got that story beat.
I was in a store when the power went out.
The young female clerk was trying to figure out my bill with paper and pencil. She got stumped and called out to her female co-worker,
“How much is 3 X 5 ?
Her friend shouted back, “I don’t know, but I think it’s the same as 5 X 3.”
I just shook my head and instead of helping her out, I suggested she take off her shoes and use her toes in the calculation. True story - Sad - but true.

Reminds me of the Irishman who came up with a plan to make widgets for a living. It cost $5 to produce each one of them, and he planned to sell them for $4 apiece.
"How will you make any money?" asked a confused friend.
"It's easy," he said, "I'll make it all up on volume."

I’ll wager that the Cubans, whom risked all to take back their country from a communist thug—and whom JFK betrayed—will have a very different view of the “Camelot” farce.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed Executive Order 10988, establishing the right of federal workers to engage in collective bargaining. Consequently, union membership among U.S. government employees soared from 13 percent in 1961 to 60 percent in the 1974. NFFE's membership also grew tremendously, roughly doubling during the same period from 80,000 members to 150,000 members.

It just shows how effective the media are at molding public opinion.

True, but a pet peeve is the abuse of the word “like” in such manners. I was in an office supply store and heard a customer tell an employee that she needed “like two of those.” Like two?
To: ConservativeStatement
It’s just a poll. Don’t lose your head over it.

Like, you know, that whole valley girl slang from, the like, 80’s.
lol.
“I would like to have 2 of those, please” would be the proper way of asking I think.

YOU are deluded. Read some early 1960s history and you will discover that JFK was a Foreign Policy DISASTER! Krutchaov(sp?) rolled him at EVERY opportunity!

>> Well, he did lift Monica.
I’m trying to figure where lifting was required. Haha.

This is why I don’t want anything happening to Obama.
I want this guy to live out the rest of his miserable life in ‘Jimmy Carter’ ignominy.
For a while there I was afraid he was going to be martyred for those basketball stitches.

JFK had he lived would not have been re-elected in 1964. His polling in 1963 was NOT good.
To: Alberta's Child
He could if he was subsidized and got bailouts and stuff or got government contracts.
That is how bad businesses succeed in this country.

Had he lived to the end of his term he wouldn't be. Got that right. His popularity was already flagging in some areas in the country by the time he made the trip to Texas.

Dems keep referring to the Bush-era tax cuts, when in fact what they want is tax increases..so maybe the GOP should start referring to Dems efforts to repeal the "Kennedy-era tax cuts..
Also, don't forget, many feel that Scott Brown's win was because of that great commerical he ran..showing JFK advocating for tax cuts, then morphing in Brown's face sayign the same thing..

Kennedy, who did damned little while President, is rated higher than Reagan? Okay!!!!! Who do they select to answer these poll questions?

Not exactly. I’d say Kennedy rolled Khrushchev during the missile crisis. We gave up Turkey ... but disaster was averted, and the Soviets were forced to pull out of Cuba.
That being said, Kennedy was inexperienced, and was really no match for Khrushchev. The Bay of Pigs was a catastrophe. Several attempts on Castro fell far short. Vietnam was the right call, though.
I’d take an inexperienced John Kennedy over inexperienced Obama any day.
