I heard a guest on Bill Bennett's "Morning in America" radio show this morning.
He said that "poverty programs" are murdering our economy. The MSM masks the true cost of these give aways by breaking up each program into little bits, but never reporting on welfare spending in the whole.
To give an idea of how bad it is; he said for every dollar we spend on Social Security (which is a massive entitlement program), we spend 75 cents on welfare: housing, cash, food stamps, etc.
Under Obama, spending on welfare has gone up 40%.
Clinton and the GOP only "fixed" one welfare program back in the 90's (one program out of 70!) And THAT reform has expired, and gone back to its original give away spending!!!
When LBJ launched his "War on Poverty", the national illegitimacy rate was 4% (and it was 19% among blacks). The illegitimacy rate among blacks is now 70%.
