I had a feeling all along this year this was going to happen, he tried to give it a go, but it wasn’t the same Urban.

Better to take care of his health.

He leaves a great legacy. Well done (and I’m not a Gator fan).

Again?

I’m sure Florida will have no problem finding a replacement.

Yeah he had to make changes with how he coached. Those changes did not work.

I don’t think Urban steps down unless he knows Florida has a replacement. He stayed on this year at the begging of Foley to try to find the next guy.

I think all of the arrests of players during his tenure affected his enthusiasm as well.

He seemed dispirited in one interview I saw earlier in the year. I had that same thought, that maybe he was counting the days. A win against a legend like Joe Paterno wouldn’t be a bad finish.

I wouldn't call Xanax a change

If you want my theory, it will be Dan Mullen that will be the new Head Coach, he gets some HC experience at Mississippi State, and now he can come back to Gainesville. He was an excellent recruiter while he was here.

Well, he has another possible Heisman winner in Cam Newton. I wonder if he regrets letting Cam go.

I believe that this season was to assess whether nor not Steve Addazio could be the Head Coach, with Urban overlooking him, that obviously didn’t work.

As I understood it he started delegating more of the coaching tasks.

Dan Mullen would do well there. I think if Cam Newton had taken the lesser money to play at Mississippi State that Mississippi State may have been the team headed to Glendale. I’m sure that Auburn wouldn’t have had a shot without Cam. I think Florida would have been in the mix, too, with Cam. Of course, Florida learned Cam’s ways early on and were probably glad to be rid of him.

For Mississippi State’s sake, I hope that Dan Mullen stays put, but it would be hard to turn down a call from Gainesville.

Yup.

Been a surreal year, and we have been Gators for a long, LONG time. (Living through 0-10-1 helps keep everything in perspective ;)

Thank you Urban, and best wishes.
Go Gators.
