The problem is that there's not an awful lot the Government can do. They can't stop people talking about this because the internet is not (thank goodness) under their control. They can't do Assange for treason because he is not a US citizen. Neither are most of the people working at wikileaks. If they were to move against them for espionage, it would only serve to publicise the event and add substance to the leaks. Anyway Wikileaks is a global based organisation. Most of them are outside US jurisdiction. You would have to extradite them, if the governments of the nations where they reside would play ball. In trial it might be quite hard to prove the information was obtained illegally.
Perhaps Wikileaks is the price we pay for living in a free society.
