IMO the White House is wishing for something, anything, to take the attention off politics for a while. Maybe they can convince some has-been celebrity to take a dirt nap for the team.

That is one of the many reasons why my optimism for the future of this country is subdued.
Actually, 51% is remarkably high. I remember a similar poll for GHW Bush back in 1992. Then, "only" 36% (roughly) thought they were worse off economically. Look how that turned out.
The other 50% are living free off of the hard working people of this Country..why should they complain?
How much more of this crap can we take?
Keep in mind, 49% of the population pay no federal income tax. Just maybe, that explains the 51% figure.
Since I can't retire on my own terms, I working at lest two more years.
