IMO the White House is wishing for something, anything, to take the attention off politics for a while. Maybe they can convince some has-been celebrity to take a dirt nap for the team.

The Campaign Obamassiah said he would brings Americans together.
So far it looks like this is the only promise the Resident Obamassiah might keep.

And in the mean time, the pissed-off, RAT Lame Ducks are attempting a scorched-earth maneuver in Congress during their last moments at the trough.

“It was President Ronald Reagan who popularized the question, “Are you better off or worse off than you were four years ago” in his 1980 campaign against Jimmy Carter.”

Loved that it was simple and made people think. Thanks for posting I saw this Bloomberg one but of course we can’t post that.

Only?

That is one of the many reasons why my optimism for the future of this country is subdued.

"Only?"

Actually, 51% is remarkably high. I remember a similar poll for GHW Bush back in 1992. Then, "only" 36% (roughly) thought they were worse off economically. Look how that turned out.

Keep in mind, 49% of the population pay no federal income tax. Just maybe, that explains the 51% figure.

I was planning to retire and relocate back in March, but the 401 hit the skids, my home property value dropped like a stone and I can't even give it away.

Since I can't retire on my own terms, I working at lest two more years.

This sucks, big time.

Heck, back in ‘92 probably only 36% actually were worse off!

But you’re right. I just can’t believe that the country will still be blaming Bush by ‘12.

Suck it up, 53%-Americans. You voted for HopenChange, you got it. You should have read the fine print where your golden-calf god Obama stipulated "Hopenchange" for America's enemies.

And guess what: there's probably more of them now.

Thanks for "voting historically", dumbasses.

Haven’t you figured it out by now?

Normal (political) rules simply don’t apply to Lord Obama.

How many of the ‘52 percenters’ are still blaming either Bush or the new GOP?

Teh WON will rise up from dirt and mundane, lily-white clean, to make another round of promises for 2012.

Yeah, he considers US the enemies of America, an America that he conceives in his Commie melonhead.

Elected by a dumbed down base and duped fools.

And the media was allowed to pick his opponent.
