I think you’re stretching to make a left/right argument where there is none. I haven’t heard a single serious person on either side support Fred Phelps, but nor have I heard anyone saying “There ought to be a law.”
Everyone should know the difference between condemning speech and banning it.

Correction, I am not saying that...what I am saying is the left has always been for free speech so it is going along with the lefts view point that this unfortunate thing is happening............period! And you are correct that no one one the left is saying there ought to be a law..of course they can not say that because it would go against their ideologue..........I am not glad or happy this is happening...Fred Phelps is wrong to do this..all I was trying to point out is the left can not say any thing about it because of their ideologue...Have I maked myself clear (er) this time?
