Russian's new mega-yacht leaves German dockyard one year late
Berlin - The biggest luxury yacht on the planet, the 535- foot Eclipse, on Thursday left the German dockyard where it was built, presumably bound for delivery to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.
Legends have surrounded the huge white boat ever since its keel was laid down in a Hamburg dockyard. It is being delivered a year late, reportedly because of a dispute with Abramovich over the price.
Some insiders claimed this week the wallpaper was manta-ray leather and the decoration included real fossils. But they denied claims in British tabloids that the boat has its own missile air-defence system and a mini-submarine as a lifeboat.
There was no announcement it had gone, but the dock was empty and port officials confirmed the Eclipse had departed in the afternoon.

so he likes grapes?
Maybe he could retrofit one of these for a jet ski.
In all honesty, if I was a pirate, I would rather attack the Visby stealth corvette you referred to rather than attack the Eclipse (or any vessel out at sea, owned by a Russian oligarch). The Swedes would arrest me and treat me quite well - with a Ruskie oligarch ....I doubt the treatment would be 5 star. Furthermore, I can bet you the yacht is VERY well armed (screw international sea arms agreements), that it has security crew that are ex-military (most probably ex-special forces), and that they would have some very nasty surprises for any pirate that tried anything. I would not be surprised if Abramovich's crew have a couple of Iglas man-pads (hence the rumors of air defence capability), and heavy machine guns or even RPGs/other anti-materiel ordnance. Any billionaire, particularly those in the emerging markets, tends to be quite paranoid (again, in emerging markets that paranoia is not exactly misplaced - an Abramovich for instance has more to worry about than a Gates). They tend to be quite prepared for a whole suite of eventualities. Pirates would do well to steer clear of this boat.
That is one of the most beautiful vessels I’ve ever seen.
What the heck is that thing?
Google “ground effect craft”
