Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, the man behind the publication of more than a 250,000 classified U.S. diplomatic cables, could soon be facing spying charges in the U.S. related to the Espionage Act, Assange's lawyer said today.
"Our position of course is that we don't believe it applies to Mr. Assange and that in any event he's entitled to First Amendment protection as publisher of Wikileaks and any prosecution under the Espionage Act would in my view be unconstitutional and puts at risk all media organizations in the U.S.," Assange's attorney Jennifer Robinson told ABC News.
Robinson said a U.S. indictment of Assange was imminent.

I would like to see Bradley Manning executed for treason and Assange put on the CIA kill or capture list.
I could live with that.
And what should be done with the equally culpable N Y Times?
If Julian Assange is going to be convicted, the New York Times needs to be next; therefore, nothing is going to happen. It is all posturing.
Correction on my part:
“...the New York Times needs to be next”
Correction: The New York Times WILL be next.
And what should be done with the equally culpable N Y Times?

The ones who should be prosecuted are BO and the rest in the BO regime who leaked to WikiLeaks and the NY Slimes.
Contact your congressman, senators, County Sheriff, DA, State Legislators, Governor, and County Grand Jury Foreman and demand that they indict, prosecute, convict and imprison BO, Big Sis and all of their local co-conspirators for leaking information to WikiLeaks and all the other crimes: Voter Fraud, Identity Theft, Illegal Foreign Campaign Contributions, TSA Sexual Assaults, Embezzlement of Government funds etc.
Mark Levin: The possibility of impeachment does not immunize the president from criminal prosecution. He remains, at all times, a citizen of the United States who is answerable to the law.

You also have to leap to a lot of other conclusions, one of which is that BO is smart enough to understand the weakpoints in the diplomatic cable system.
I don't think BO is smart enough to tie his shoes.
On the other hand I will enjoy the TV shots when they burn the NYT building to the ground with thermite grenades and WP.
That will be good.
publishers don't have any more rights than the rest of us.
If publishing the classified data was illegal, then Assaunge should be prosecuted.
Manning should definitely be prosecuted for releasing the information.
However this whole think highlights several problems.
What is the difference between what Assange has done and a whistleblower? This information has been embarassing but with the exception of the climate gate bribes and threats, it doesn't show illegal activity. Should Assange receive whistleblower status, or does he need something more to gain that status? How do we protect whistleblowers from reporting illegal activity while simultaneously prosecuting those who would solicit and publish classified data for the purposes of harming us?
So what? Assange is irrelevant. Your (American) problem is, that the damage is already done and that you lost many friends around this planet. Maybe nobody of the politicians in the ME, Asia or Europe is going to tell you directly, but they will not forget. For us Europeans i.e. the quintessence is, that the mind-set of American diplomats towards us is not friendly. If American diplomats think that way, American polticians will not think different. That means, Americans are people with interests but they are no friends.
This is not good. You are well advised to work on yourself.

Given the glacial speed at which Eric Holder is moving on this indictment, Assange doesn’t have much to worry about.
