Sen. Lindsey Graham plots return to energy talks (or was we call it " A Fool's Work is Never Done")

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) walked away from climate change and energy talks with Democrats months ago, but he’s plotting a return to the thick of Senate energy debates.

Graham said Thursday that he’s reviving his proposal to create a “clean energy” standard for utilities in the next Congress.

The idea would require power companies to supply escalating amounts of energy from various low-carbon sources. Power generated from new nuclear plants would be eligible.

Graham told reporters that he wants to link the idea with proposals that would prevent EPA from “overly” regulating several air pollutants — including carbon.

“I am going to try and get with some Democrats and Republicans and see if we can come up with a clean energy standard that has a regional flexibility, that focuses on clean energy, and keep the EPA from overly regulating all these pollutants. That would be the tradeoff,” Graham said in the Capitol.

While there may be some in the Republican party who regularly diss the GOP(Collins, Snowe), there is no bigger jackass than Lindsey.

The change in the Senate with people like Ron Johnson taking office will put a stop to Grahamesty and his foolish ideas. Also the House will not go along with this crap with a the majority the Republicans now hold. Lindsay is tilting at windmills again. He needs to go!

Graham is horrible. But Olympia Snowe gave us OBAMACARE. Without her vote, that monstrosity would not have made it out of committee. She gave Ben Nelson political cover.

We need to follow his money.

He must have some illicit investment in this.

Great idea, Senator Gramnesty! The US Senate should immediately "go green" with wind energy, placing a wind farm on their roof. And repaint the roof as appropriate, so that when we gaze up at the Capitol Dome we see a giant version of this:

Also, the symbolism will help remind us about what goes on below the roof.

But please use your own personal bank accounts for this, and leave the taxpayers to make their own energy decisions.

(BTW what's that tiny form below the propeller? A mouse? Better to replace it with a hog).

Pansey Graham obviously invested heavily in the Carbon Exchange. That’s a Ten Trillion per year scam we just cannot afford.

Trent Lott [R] on Tea Party candidates: ‘As soon as they get here, we need to co-opt them’

The money quote from a Washington Post piece on the Tea Party and Washington’s GOP establishment:

Former Senate majority leader Trent Lott (R-Miss.), now a D.C. lobbyist, warned that a robust bloc of rabble-rousers spells further Senate dysfunction. “We don’t need a lot of Jim DeMint disciples,” Lott said in an interview. “As soon as they get here, we need to co-opt them.”

But Lott said he’s not expecting a tea-party sweep. “I still have faith in the visceral judgment of the American people,” he said.
