Have to disagree. Straus's style suggests that it won't happen. For your scenario to occur, Straus would have to strong-arm the members, and he won't do that (didn't do it last session at any rate).

Not to mention, with questions about his credentials, he will have to place Republicans as chairs of all committees, and there aren't enough Democrats to stop anything from coming out of committee.

Straus controlled which bills came up for a vote and when, and yes I hear rumors he did strong-arm some of them. He worked for the Democrats in the last session, he is loved by Planned Parenthood and others on the left. He did their bidding.
