Deadly Stockholm blasts linked to Afghanistan ("Religion Of Peace" strikes again)

A car explosion and what appeared to be a suicide attack injured two people, killed the apparent bomber, and caused panic among Christmas shoppers in Stockholm Saturday.

The Swedish news agency TT said it had received an email warning with a threat to Sweden and its people ahead of the blasts. The agency said the threat was linked to Sweden's presence in Afghanistan, where it has a force of 500 soldiers, mainly in the north.

"Now your children, daughters and sisters shall die like our brothers and sisters and children are dying," the news agency quoted the e-mail as saying.

But there is an upward learning curve even with the most inept.

Long term, and this was predictable, Europe is in far greater trouble than even we are.

We are simply target #1 because we are the leader of the pact, the biggest/most powerful and the most involved around the world and are symbolically more significant too.

However, it is Europe that has far larger Muslim populations. Europe is geographically closer and range alone is a variable when you're talking about Iran, Libya etc and ballistic missile programs. They have a large open and porous Eastern border (sort of like our Southern border) and the Southern nations like Spain and Italy aren't very tight either. The demographics of the Muslim populations is very dangerous, i.e. Germany with it's large Turkish populations that are not a huge threat are not the norm for Europe. Europe is long term looking at having large populous Muslim nations entering the economic zone either entirely or conditionally, as with Turkey. Yet their own populations are shrinking. Indeed, they are somewhat dependent on the immigration from these Muslim nations to keep their entire social system and order alive because with birthrates as low as they are their entire society would otherwise implode within a short span. Finally, they are MORE dependent on resources and conduct more trade than we are from these unstable regions, i.e. one of Germany's larger trading partners is Iran.

The vast secular/liberal/hedonistic/nihilistic European population lives in denial. But for the Muslims this is a reality and they do take it seriously. OBL chose to throw away a plush life as a millionaire, trading for it a life on the run and hiding in caves. He's not alone........ Even their leaders, like Ahmadinejad are on a personal quest to expand the scope of Islam. For the average European this is really a non issue except when they are confronted with the reality as in this case. For the European it is outside of their “paradigm” why people would be like this because they after all are inclusive, open, egalitarian, secular, non patriotic, lascivious.........(screw who you want, have an abortion, say what you want, pray to whatever........)

At the end of the day, it does matter how the other guy thinks when he is holding a knife to your throat. For you his cause and motivation may be ignorant, archaic, xenophobic, racist, close minded or a slew of other things, but that won't help you much as you bleed out on the sidewalk as Van Gogh did.

The Europeans won't wake up. They'll do too little too late, in the meantime they're happy that those uncultured Americans are fighting some war for oil and that they are doing little and standing on the sidelines. That's reality. Sweden, neutral, liberal Sweden......that says something! lol
