I was pulling for “Three Yards” and “Cloud of Dust”, but nobody asked me.
To provide a degree of dis-ambiguity, why don't we call it "The Big Ten plus Northwestern and Nebraska?"
I don’t hate the names as much as I hate them together because they imply that “leaders” are not “legends” and vice versa. Give me a half-hour and I would have come up with something better.
“Pros” and “Cons”
gee, and I thought the NHL was lame back when they had the Patrick, Norris, Smythe and Adams Divisions...
How about:
Anti-Catholic Bigot division (or, “Know Nothing” division (would include Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Illinois. Purdue and Northwestern); and
Suckhole division (Knute Rockne’s colorful description of a Big Ten referee): all the other suckholes.
Just remember that 70 teams out of 120 are going to bowls.
How about Big Ten West and Big Ten-Don’t-wake-Paterno-he’s-sleeping.
One Division should have been named “Shembechler” and the other Division “Hayes”
That would have been perfect.
I just read on espn that they wanted to stay away from names of coaches.. Sort of stupid as these 2 men represtned what Big Ten football was all about,hard nosed, run the ball first and good defense football.. The Names they came up with are stupid.

Has there ever been a bowl season with such a large proportion of 6-6 teams playing in a bowl game?
It’s a side effect of adding more bowls.
Dang, something like the “Red” division and the “Blue” division would have been better. Olympic Hockey used to have names like that.
“Hayes” and “Schembechler” would have been better also. It wouldn’t have had to be those two but those are much better than “Legends” and “Leaders.”
“East” and “West” would have been better also.
Big Ten commissioner says conference may reconsider division names. Sanity prevails.
