I wrestled as well, and this wasn’t anything I’ve ever heard of. Give bored pseudo-adult coaches enough time, and they’ll take the rules to the limits. There are many things which are illegal in wrestling, and this “move” should quickly be placed on the list. As a wrestler, I’d never have wanted to resort to such a tactic to win a match, as there would simply be no honor in your victory.....but that was then, and honor doesn’t appear to be on many curricula anymore. As far as I know, grabbing an opponents johnson wasn’t outlawed, but simply was never done. I have had opponents drive their knees into my gonads, when starting out in the “down” position to stun me, but that was about the worst I ever endured. Of course when they start doing those kinds of things, they have to realize they will be starting in the “down” position at the beginning of the next round.
